Orion Talent, the nation---s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Field Service Engineer positions with a market leading provider of weighing and slicing technologies for industry and trade and is a worldwide leading specialist in industrial weighing and labeling technologies. Position Details Location: Tallahassee, FL Compensation: Starting salary $65K- $70K annually. Salary will depend on certain preconditions (qualification, experience, aptitude, etc.). Training: Company has a strong focus on training and setting up Technicians for long term Success. These programs are not common amongst most companies and a great way to guarantee success with the right work ethic. Initial training session will consist of an in-depth training course on the WP800A. Ongoing training includes programs for new releases, new technologies, and major software changes. Training will take place in Sandston, Virginia. You must be willing to be in the Richmond area for the 3 week training program. Class dates are Nov 28 or Dec 5. The December class will be only 2 weeks. Travel: You MUST be open to high travel. Most travel will be during the weekdays with occasional weekends. Typical 50% overnight travel, maybe less depending on region. At the beginning of your employment and after training travel is typically 80% overnight. Goal of department is to have all techs able to drive home each night. Company provided vehicle, tools and measuring equipment, work clothes, smart phone, laptop, etc. Position Description As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for this company's high-tech equipment used in food processing operations (industrial scales, x-rays, metal detectors, vision systems, touch screens, and labelers). You will provide service for scheduled jobs, emergency repairs, and installations. This is a great opportunity to leverage your electronics skills and learn automation and network-based controls. Working in a team of experienced Technicians your primary responsibility will be providing on-site repairs, installations, off-site remote troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for the WP800A auto-wrapper, a fully automated machine which weighs, packages, and labels customer grocery products. In customers--- service areas, you will provide technical services to clients in the supermarket environment. The auto-wrapper features an integrated KHII 100 Pro scale with versatile and customizable software capabilities. The scale is wirelessly or directly connected to a network in a retail environment for data loading, settings customization, etc. Position Requirements --- Comprehensive knowledge of the WP800A functionality and operations. --- On-site repairs, installations, operator training, and technical support in a supermarket environment with on-call responsibilities. --- Experienced retail food equipment field service technician specializing in auto-wrappers. --- Associates degree or equivalent, completion of military or technical school related to applied field; 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. --- Good analytical skills for logical troubleshooting and diagnostics. Capability of reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and spare part break downs. --- Knowledgeable in mechanical work on printers and mechanical parts of food processing machines. --- Experienced in repair and installation of PC-based devices or processor-controlled equipment (primarily board change level). --- Strong knowledge of operating systems, especially MS Windows OPS. --- Capable to set up and troubleshoot both wired and wireless network connected devices. --- Familiar with TCP/IP based connections and other system bus protocols. --- Valid driver's license. --- Proficiency with the use of hand and power tools. --- Able to lift 50lbs. --- Can listen to customer concerns and takes time to explain all job-related topics efficiently and effectively to the client. --- Proven initiative and a professional "can do", pleasant attitude. --- Customer focused and self-motivated. --- Detail oriented. --- Enjoys traveling to multiple locations and flexible work hours. --- Strong organizational and time management skills. --- Good analytical skills and troubleshooting is required.
