Requisition No: 511923Agency: Department of EducationWorking Title: SENIOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM DIRECTOR-DOE - Position Number: Salary: $41,000.00 - $64,000.00Posting Closing Date: 11/19/2021This Position is for a Director of Healthy Schools.In this position:* The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance expectations sometimes under stressful conditions.* The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit.* Attendance is an essential function of this position.* As a supervisor, the incumbent must communicate with, motivate, provide or coordinate training, and direct the work of his/her subordinates. In addition, the employee must complete timely performance appraisals, develop timely and accurate work plans, and timely approve monthly attendance and leave for each position under his/her direct report. Timesheets will be completed in the People First system by the 5th business day of the following month. The incumbent has the authority to make hiring recommendations as well as disciplinary recommendations.* Other duties and responsibilities include:* Provide leadership and technical assistance to district and department personnel on instructional programs, research, innovations, materials, and strategies related to the content of Health Education, Physical Education, Peer Counseling, Leadership Skills Development, JROTC, and Driver Education and the teaching of Health Education, Physical Education, Peer Counseling, Leadership Skills Development, JROTC, and Driver Education in grades K-12.* Manage project development/maintenance and implementation to ensure products are delivered in a timely fashion and are of a high quality.Tasks related specifically to the Office of Healthy Schools including, but not limited to:* Coordinate and oversee the following federal and state grant and awards programs.* Lead the implementation of health and physical education standards and courses within K-12 Florida classrooms.* Plan and provide professional learning experiences for districts.* Assist in curricular initiatives such as the Course Code Directory, instructional materials adoptions, and State Board of Education rules related to Health Education and Physical Education K-12.* Participate in the activities of professional organizations as appropriate to provide statewide leadership for K-12 Health Education, and Physical Education.* Ensure cooperative interagency planning, resource sharing, and training in support of healthy and physical education.The State of Florida is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer, and does not tolerate discrimination or violence in the workplace.Candidates requiring a reasonable accommodation, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, must notify the agency hiring authority and/or People First Service Center (1-).
