The Florida Attractions Association links the passion and creativity of Florida's attractions industry. For over 70 years, the FAA has been the source for attraction industry trends and best practices and is the industry network for over 250 attractions and businesses, represented by nearly 2000 executives and leaders of Florida's finest family attractions and industry suppliers.

The FAA is seeking a dynamic, talented, and passionate individual to serve as the Communications Manager. This role will work closely with a tight-knit staff and a dedicated Board of Directors to share industry information with our members; shape the events, programs, and benefits presented by the FAA and guide the future of our thriving industry.

The successful candidate will function as chief communication developer for the Florida Attractions Association, the Florida Attractions Scholarship Foundation, and the Florida Attractions Political Action Committee (PAC).

Select applicants to this position will be interviewed by the President and CEO. Our evaluation process includes exercises to demonstrate a candidate's proficiency in writing, design, and technology.

The responsibilities of this position will constantly evolve over time, and may include, but will not be limited to:
Build and sustain rapport and relationships with FAA members, vendors, and business contacts
Act as an ambassador and advocate for our members and industry in government relations and industry groups
Develop and manage communications calendar for digital and print communications
Design and manage printed and digital marketing materials for all events and programs
Act as onsite coordinator for collateral and technology at all offsite events, including event setup and takedown and managing all presentation technology
Photography and video recording of FAA events
Manage written and graphic content for all public- and member-facing websites
Manage all website platforms, including database management (CRM/CMS)
Organize and oversee select member programs and benefits
Interview and hire interns for Annual Conference and other projects
Design and develop membership development materials
Direct educational webinars, including selection of topics and operation of webinar software
Research and manage software and technology needs across all FAA operations, and select new platforms as necessary
Manage all social media platforms
Create and manage registration for all events as well as pre- and post-event surveys

Education Requirements
Successful candidates will have demonstrated proficiency in the essential skills. While a bachelors degree is preferred, no specific education level is required to apply.

Essential Skills
The Communications Manager must be passionate, professional, creative, and adaptive. They must be a critical thinker and have an eye for detail. They must be teachable, curious, and seek out new innovative technologies and trends. They will also have the skills listed below:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a multi-platform communications plan, including digital and printed materials and social media
Website administration and content management, including experience with back-end website development (CMS / CRM)
Strong sense of theme design and creation for online and print platforms
Experience with the Adobe Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Understanding of social media marketing and SEO/SEM using platforms such as Google Adwords
Experience in database management
Ability to work with or without direction, leading some projects and executing directions on others
Strong sense of project management, including setting priorities and schedules and meeting deadlines
Mastery of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Basic understanding of web design (HTML/CSS) and familiarity with association management software (we use WildApricot) and Wordpress
Ability to travel as needed ( Discontent for the status quo

Salary commensurate with abilities or experience; anticipate hiring up to $50k. Professional/salaried/exempt. Tallahassee based - no relocation expenses available. Drug free workplace, equal opportunity employer.
