COMPANY SUMMARYMocama Marine LLC ("Mocama" or "Company") is a
manufacturer of two premier boat brands including: Action Craft (a
revered brand of flats boats and bay boats) and Southwind (a
premium brand of high-quality deck boats). - JOB SUMMARY - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mocama is seeking an experienced
manager and proven leader to oversee all plant operations.
Demonstrated track record of career growth and success required.
Experience in boat manufacturing and design a significant plus but
not mandatory. Key objectives include (a) ensuring production and
delivery of top quality boats, (b) ensuring the company's
production team is well trained and stable, (c)
establishing/refining/enforcing plant policies and procedures, (d)
vetting/maximizing production processes, (e) defining and
implementing production goals, (f) fostering a strong employee
environment through clear and consistent communication and (h)
driving cost and quality initiatives in all cases using technology,
lean principles and good manufacturing practices. - PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for plant production goals and continuous
improvements including the use of lean principles.
- Maintain a clean and safe plant.
- Direct plant operations and product quality control.
- Oversee staffing and scheduling in conjunction with department
heads and management.
- Work with departments to ensure effective coordination of
purchasing, scheduling, production, and shipping/logistics.
- Responsible for introduction, maintenance and management of
product testing and suggesting product improvements.
- Develop a well-trained, motivated supervisory staff; Conduct
employee performance reviews per corporate guidelines.
- Establish and maintain clear, consistent, and inclusive culture
and communications plan.
- Assist in development of agreements with key suppliers and
dealers.
- Establish and maintain local community relations.
- Work with company finance staff and management to establish,
maintain and manage budgets, BOMs, build sheets, and other
financial/management tools and reporting requirements. - KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, ABILITIES & CHARACTERISTICS
- Education:
- BS Degree in management, math, engineering or equivalent.
- Experience & Knowledge:
- 5+ years of plant management level experience.
- Demonstrated track record of career growth and success.
- Outstanding manufacturing knowledge and supervisory
skills.
- In-depth knowledge of mold maintenance, gel coat, lamination,
and assembly processes.
- Demonstrated strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Information Systems:
- Information systems fluency, with knowledge of manufacturing
statements, MRP operations and Microsoft Office.
- Strong training in LEAN manufacturing practices.
- Ability to establish, manage and maintain key financial
reports.
- Language & Communication:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations in English.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic
mail, procedures and performance documents, as examples, in
English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and other
employees of the organization.
- Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with
technology assistance.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to utilize data to make business decisions.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including
gloves, apron, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, safety glasses
and a respirator. Plant environment varies with outside temperature
and noise levels vary in different production areas.
- Possible exposure to chemicals common to boat manufacturing
processes.
- Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other
regulatory agencies.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
where designated, including but not limited to, hard hat, safety
glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirator etc.
- Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job,
including but not limited to, lifting, bending, stooping,
squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing stairs, reaching,
grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and spending entire working
hours on your feet, etc.
- Must be able to understand all safety related documents and
work-site rules and practices, equipment operating instructions,
documented safety management systems, and health and safety
requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual
