Operations Director - Window Treatment ManufacturingA trusted, leading manufacturer of blinds, shades, and shutters with a track record of over 60 years of sales and production is looking for an Operations Director to oversee our cutting-edge production facility in Tallahassee. If you're a dynamic leader with a passion for innovation and a strong background in manufacturing, this is the opportunity for you!Please note that there is no relocation consideration for this role and that candidates must live within a commuting distance of Tallahassee, FL to be considered.Your Role:As the Operations Director, you'll spearhead modernization efforts, optimize manufacturing processes, and inspire a team of dedicated professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive efficiency, foster collaboration across departments, and implement strategic improvements to take our production capabilities to the next level.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Modernization Efforts: Drive innovation by refining systems and processes to boost efficiency, while maintaining our core values of community, positive leadership, and humility.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 20-40 professionals, including three manufacturing managers, ensuring smooth operations across the plant.
• Process Improvement: Oversee critical manufacturing functions, such as sanding, painting, woodworking, and assembly, with a focus on continuous improvement and maximizing productivity.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, purchasing, and finance teams to align manufacturing goals with business objectives.
• Strategic Problem-Solving: Identify and implement cost-effective strategies to reduce lead times and improve customer delivery.
• Data-Driven Insights: Utilize SAP or similar ERP systems to analyze operations data, optimizing workflows and making informed, strategic decisions.
• Minimal Travel: Only 1-2 trips per year to other distribution centers, with no travel required in your first year.What We Offer:

    • On-Site Leadership: You'll be on the floor, guiding your team and overseeing all production processes at our Tallahassee plant from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
    • Continuous Improvement: Implement and optimize best practices to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and meet production targets.
    • Hands-On Involvement: Stay engaged with the day-to-day operations, providing support where needed to keep everything running smoothly.What We're Looking For:
      • Manufacturing Expertise: At least 6 years of experience in manufacturing, ideally in the blinds, shades, shutters, or similar industries, with a focus on wood or PVC products.
      • Leadership Experience: 4+ years leading teams, including direct reports and managing teams of 20 or more.
      • Tech Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
      • Hands-On Leadership: You're willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the production process when necessary.
      • People Management: You excel in leading with empathy, ensuring efficiency and fostering a positive work environment.
      • Process Improvement Mindset: Proven track record of developing and implementing processes that boost quality and productivity.Bonus Qualifications:
        • Industrial Engineering: Experience in industrial engineering or plant management is a big plus.
