Requisition No: 500663 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AIDE - 64007178 Position Number: 64007178 Salary: $29,673.02 annual salary/ $14.27 hourly Posting Closing Date: 11/12/2021 Open Competitive Your Specific Responsibilities: This is an entry level Environmental Health Aide position working in the Environmental Health (EH) Section of the Wakulla County Health Department. This position is responsible for supporting the EH department with customer support and clerical duties under the infrequent supervision of the Environmental Manager. * Provides assistance to EH clients by answering technical questions and accepting applications for permitting process of all Environmental Health programs, including but not limited to OSTDS, Tattoo, Tanning, Parks and Mobile Homes, Biomedical Waste, and Food Hygiene. Assures all documentation submitted is accurate and complete. * Responsible for data entry, and payment collection of all EH programs and mails invoices prior to permit expirations. * Runs reports for compliance records and outstanding balances. * Schedules inspections for OSTDS program and assists contractors with status of submitted applications. * Maintains records in the EH database and assists with maintaining organization of all in house files. * Scans and keeps record of paperwork for the availability of public records. * Assists with monitoring OSTDS operating files for yearly compliance and preparation of reports, legal notices, and/or enforcement proceedings. * Assists with receiving water samples and ships to state lab in a timely manner. Confirms receipt of water samples and provides guidance to customers on status of water sample results. * Monitors and submits mosquito control requests. * Assists with receiving nuisance complaints and assures follow-up in a timely manner. * Responsible for inventory of EH supplies and equipment and submits purchase requests as needed. * Other duties as directed by Supervisor.
