Join a collaborative oncology nursing team delivering high-quality inpatient oncology and medical-surgical care. /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Travel Nurse assignment)/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1890/week/n - Setting: Acute Care – Oncology (Medical Surgical) | Inpatient Oncology Nursing/n - Unit: 29-bed Oncology Floor (7th floor, inpatient only)/n - Contract Length: 17 weeks (March 30, 2026 – July 27, 2026)/n - Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)/n - Hours: 36 hours per week, every other weekend required/n - Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week/n - Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue/n - Charting System: MEDITECH (EMR)/n /n/nJob Requirements / Qualifications/n /n - Active RN license (must be valid for travel assignment in Georgia)/n - BLS (AHA) certification required/n - NIHSS certification preferred/n - ONS certification preferred for chemotherapy administration/n - Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology RN experience required (inpatient oncology or medical-surgical oncology)/n - No first-time travelers/n - Must live at least 75 miles from the facility (based on driver’s license)/n /n/nKey Responsibilities/n /n - Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology and medical overflow patients, including management of acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology cases, and end-of-life/palliative care/n - Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other oncology treatments per policy (ONS best practices preferred)/n - Manage typical patient assignment of 1:5 (occasionally 1:6) on an inpatient oncology unit/n - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses and nurse aides, for safe patient care and transitions/n - Document patient care accurately in MEDITECH EMR and maintain compliance with charting standards/n - Participate in a 3-day floor-specific orientation to the oncology unit/n - Float to the medical acute unit as needed (rarely)/n - Rotate holidays and work every other weekend as scheduled/n - Support patients transitioning from outpatient to inpatient care when necessary/n /n/nWhy Join This Travel Nurse Oncology Team/n /n - Work on a dedicated 29-bed inpatient oncology unit with a supportive, collaborative team/n - Guaranteed 36 hours/week—stable schedule for travel RN assignments/n - Floor-specific orientation to help you succeed in inpatient oncology nursing/n - Gain experience with MEDITECH EMR and a range of oncology and hematology cases/n - Live and work in Albany, Georgia (31701) — affordable living and Southern hospitality/n /n/n Apply now to join our oncology nursing team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Albany, GA.
