Job Description:
This position is responsible for assisting the Executive
Housekeeper in supervising all housekeeping staff in maintaining
the cleanliness of the guest rooms, and public and service areas of
the Four Points Tallahassee Downtown on a regular basis.
Essential Job Functions:
-- Effectively trains staff so that they are able to consistently
provide service that meets the hotel's excellent service standards.
-- Effectively interviews and selects staff; creates a work
environment that minimizes turnover and maximizes retention. --
Holds staff accountable to the policies and procedures of the
hotel, i.e., drinking on the property, entering/exiting through
associate entrance, no harassment, etc. -- Monitors budget. Uses
purchase orders, effectively utilizes checkbook and processes
invoices timely. -- Represents Four Points Tallahassee Downtown as
a great place to work. -- Treat associates with respect and dignity
in regard to scheduling, diversity, appreciation and recognition,
suggestions for improvement, and other pertinent job issues. --
Continually searches for ways to improve procedures, training,
interviewing, and other hotel services. -- Supervise and assign
work to housekeeping staff; encourage responsibility and
decision-making. -- Assist in establishing safe working conditions
and practices for associates and guests alike. -- Assist Executive
Housekeeper in preparing performance appraisals within the scope of
authority and on a timely basis and effectively communicate this
appraisal to associate. -- Assist in ensuring that all staff is
knowledgeable of all emergency and fire procedures. -- Maintain
control of in-house keys within the department at all times. --
Employ proper use of cleaning and safety equipment at all times. --
Maintain brand standard of cleanliness in all areas of
responsibility. -- Attend and participate in all required meetings.
-- Meet with the Operations Manager daily to ensure good
communication. -- Become familiar with guest rooms, public areas,
placements, floor plans, and emergency exits. -- Maintain an
accurate daily record of all room cleaning progress and status. --
Assist with and ensure all rooms are inspected daily to brand
standard. -- Verify the status of each room through visual
inspection throughout the day and complete all room inspections
with up-to-date status by end of the shift ensuring guests don't
have to wait to check-in after 3 pm. -- Know AM/PM opening and
closing procedures. -- Coordinates all deep-cleaning and general
room cleaning with staff, and ensures the quality of these rooms.
-- Follow up on all out-of-order rooms daily. -- Performs supply
and linen inventories as needed. -- Become familiar with
computerized room updating procedures. -- Discipline all persons
within the scope of responsibility in keeping with the professional
and fair code of conduct and Four Points Tallahassee Downtown
personnel policy. -- Ensure that all assigned VIP rooms are
completed and inspected by 11 AM. If not, relay the status to Front
Desk and General Manager. -- Actively search for and locate
maintenance problems, works closely with Maintenance Supervisor to
coordinate repairs. -- Ensure sound cost control procedures at all
times and correct inefficient uses of labor, supplies, and time
when necessary. -- Receive and perform guest requests in a timely
and reasonable manner, and according to the guests' requirements.
-- Inspect all rooms assigned in section daily. -- Cross-train in
all positions of housekeeping. -- Assist Executive Housekeeper on
the upkeep and safety of all Lost and Found items. -- Know laundry
operating procedures. -- Assist with and ensure all deep clean
rooms are on schedule and are being correctly completed by the
housekeeping staff. -- Other duties as assigned.
