Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As an, HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-07, you will plan, organize, and administer the military personnel program for the organization. Serve as the technical expert on a variety of administrative matters (e.g. format for directives and standing operating procedures, general office procedures, filing systems, reference libraries, etc.). Provide authoritative advice and guidance to the commander and his staff pertaining to military personnel administration. Keep abreast and ensures the implementation of new policy statements, regulations and directives issued by higher headquarters concerning personnel and administrative activities. Develop guidelines and operational procedures to implement changes to policies and programs directed by higher headquarters. Researches and resolves the most difficult military personnel problems and questions, including those where regulation is only partially relevant or is incomplete. Travel Required Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. Supervisory status No Promotion Potential 7 - #### Job family (Series) 0203 Human Resources Assistance- Requirements Conditions of Employment - APPLICANTS SHOULD CONTACT THEIR STATE INCENTIVES MANAGER TO DETERMINE IF ACCEPTING THIS POSITION WILL AFFECT ANY BONUS RECEIVED FROM THE MILITARY. - This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement. - Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. - Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - May be required to successfully complete a probationary period - Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service 'under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709', and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only.Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only: This is an indefinite position dependent upon funding. T32 employees will be placed on a temporary promotion and will retain their permanent status. This position may be converted to permanent without further competition if funding is available. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-Current Title 5 selectees and State National Guard Members (Not Current Onboard T32 Technician) This is an indefinite position dependent on funding, selectee will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). The incumbent may be terminated at any time within this period upon a 30-day notice andwill have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. This position may be converted to permanent, without further competition if funding becomes available. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted- E4 thru E7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 must have at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws; experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions; experience performing personnel transactions; experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control.
