located in the Office of Information Technology in Tallahassee,

ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND
- Assist the Department of Office of Information Technology (OIT)
user by phone support, with mainframe password resets and LAN
(local area network) password resets. Assist the user when help is
needed to learn how to log onto the mainframe or the personal
computer. Log each help desk call into the helpdesk ticketing
software HP Service Center.
- Assist users by phone support or by electronic mail that are
having problem with mainframe applications, such as batch jobs,
CICS transactions and printing jobs and reports from the mainframe.
Log each call into the helpdesk ticketing software HP Service
- Assist users by phone support or electronic mail that are
having problems with personal computer, web based applications and
Microsoft Operating systems such as Windows XP and Microsoft Office
products Word, Excel and Outlook. Log each call into the helpdesk
ticketing software HP Service Center.
- Monitor the status of the Departments IBM Mainframe, servers
and network for system problems that may arise and notify the
proper sections for immediate problem resolution, whether it is
within the OIT department or a third party vendor and work in
combination with the technicians until the problem is resolved.
Monitor mainframe batch jobs and print jobs.
- Assist the technicians in the field, whether it is the
departments OIT technician or a technician from a third party
vendor, with any problems that they may have or questions that may
- Assist with maintaining the procedure documentation for the
helpdesk. This includes writing documentation, reviewing
documentation and distributing documentation and running reports
from the helpdesk ticketing software HP Service Center as
neededKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's):
- Knowledge of distributed processing operations, procedures, and
