THE PROSECUTION SERVICES UNITThe Prosecution Services Unit (PSU) is
the legal enforcement arm of the Division of Medical Quality
Assurance. Senior attorneys in PSU evaluate investigative reports
for probable cause, make probable cause recommendations, and
litigate cases where probable cause has been found to final
resolution.Your Specific Responsibilities:This position works
independently within a team to prosecute violations of state law
and administrative rules by licensees of the healthcare professions
regulated by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance, pursuant to
chapters 120 and 456, Florida Statutes. In this position you will:*
Review case files, develop legal opinions, and prepare probable
cause recommendations including administrative complaints and
closing orders.* Present cases before healthcare licensure boards
across the State of Florida.* Represent the Department before the
Division of Administrative Hearings and in circuit court.* Provide
timely and professional representation in all aspects of
litigation, including trial preparation, motion practice,
discovery, trial presentation, witness examination, and
post-hearing pleadings preparation.* Manage an inventory of cases
to ensure timely resolution in accordance with statutory
requirements.* Timely respond to public records requests, inquiries
from counsel, and from other agencies regarding current
cases.Qualifications:* Juris Doctorate from a law school accredited
by the American Bar Association* Membership in the Florida Bar, or
membership within 12 months of accepting a positionFlorida
