Job Description:
Supplier Development & Cost Engineer --- Devel costs for product
proposals and design changes, and collab e design and mfg engineers
to achieve cost objectives and cost alternatives. Duties: devel
cost contingency models; differentiate material/mfg process used as
alternate vs current design; interact w eng org re priorities of
projects/tech; provide teams w cost tracking to est target cost in
product devel cycle; work w stakeholders to assess capability of
end-to-end supply chain; encourage suppliers to deploy factory
concepts/standards; provide eng/mfg w project/product cost data;
share calculations knowledge/data w members of value mgmt; support
teams to identify cost driver in early APQP process; identify cost
saving; manage Supply Chain Product devel VA/VE through value
stream; cost workshops at supplier aligned with commodity mgr and
program buyer; analyze supplier break downs to support buyer,
commodity mgr in negotiation; support purchasing and eng in cost
workshops; create should cost models to drive technical discussion
between supply chain and supplier. Reqd: BS in Eng (Elec, Mech, or
Aero) w 5 yrs exp as Cost Analyst/Calculator/Controller; in lieu of
BS pls exp, MS in Eng (Elec, Mech, or Aero) w 3 yrs exp as Cost
Analyst/Calculator/Controller. 1 yr exp w value mgmt. Exp may be
