Requisition No: 510162 Agency: Department of State Working Title: DOS - RECORDS SPECIALIST - 45000310 Position Number: 45000310 Salary: $27,040.08 Posting Closing Date: 11/19/2021 Department of State Records Specialist Division of Library & information Services Bureau of Archive & Records Management Internal Agency Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma. Two years of records management work experience. College education may substitute at the rate of 30 semester hours/45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience. Valid Driver's License. Preferences: Experience working in a non-climate controlled work environment. Warehouse/Inventory experience. Experience organizing files, records or other materials. Experience in a position requiring frequent heavy lifting or performing duties that are physically demanding. Experience providing backup to lead workers or training other employees. Special Note: Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported in your employment history. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide state and local government agencies with records storage services. Verify that storage cartons are properly constructed and labels are properly placed. Provide guidance to customers on how to use State Records Center services. Transport records to the center and ensure proper storage. Provide state and local government agencies with reference service. Pull records upon request, prepare for transport, and transport records to customers. Pick up returns and re-file them. Maintain integrity of records, verifying that all records are accounted for and properly stored. Complete routine deaccessions and verify records pulled for quality control inspections. Provide backup to unit coordinators, assisting in administrative duties and in training new employees and Records Technicians. Perform quality control measures for inventory. Perform preventative and routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles. Perform other work related duties as required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a non-climate controlled work environment. Ability to lift, move, carry and/or push items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, stretch and/or twist. Ability to walk for extended periods and/or long distances. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions, outside or inside (e.g., heat; cold; dust; noise). Ability to ascend and descend ladders. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use warehouse equipment; pallet jackets, carts and magliners. Ability to drive state owned vehicles to provide services to customers. Ability to communicate and convey ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, subordinates and superiors.
