In addition to the valuable skills gained through training and on-the-job experience, MasTec offers competitive pay, including medical, vision and dental coverage, 401K and employee stock discounts.We are looking for seasoned, team oriented, quality minded, and motivated Apprentice Lineman C to be a part of a dynamic and diverse team.Job Summary:A Class C Apprentice Lineman must be able to perform diversified work construction and maintain poles, power lines, and auxiliary facilities and equipment for the transmission and distribution of electricity. Must also be capable of and prepared to perform duties of Groundman.Job Responsibilities: (include but not limited to)Climbs on a regular basis in a learning situation on dead poles or secondary voltage poles under the supervision of a qualified Class A (First Class) Lineman or a Foreman.Learns to frame poles properly in the ground, install poles, anchors, and guys, cuts and cleans right-of-ways properly and assists other crew members as requested or directed.Keeps abreast of all changes affecting any records, reports, and related information affecting this position.Must have a complement of lineman's toolsKnowledge of electric principles is highly desirable.Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to MasTec standard.Directly responsible for all personal actions and any vehicles or equipment in their care, custody or controlReport all personal & vehicle accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, cooperate and assist in the investigations of sameResponsible for timely submission of all Apprentice Program required documentationBasic Qualifications:Valid driver's licenseMust obtain a CDL class A driver's license within 30 days of employment.Lifting up to 50 lbs.Requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, working in confined spaces, working off a pole or in a bucket.Preferred Qualifications:High school graduate or GED certificate preferred.Knowledge of electric principles is highly desirable.
