Protecting and servicing sensitive information is crucial to the Department and the University as a whole.Qualifications Who is an ideal candidate for this position?An individual who likes troubleshooting, analyzing, evaluating technology issues, and seeing their efforts come together as planned. Being able to see the big picture while ensuring the small details are managed is an essential attribute of this position. Someone who can work well under pressure, organize tasks, and maintain hardware and software, and improve IT systems is essential to the Physics IT department.Professional communication skills are required. You will work as a team player but also independently to complete tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in Information Technology Management Systems.Minimum Requirements include:Bachelors degree or a high school diploma / equivalent and four years of experience Note: Higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.Experience in providing desktop support for Windows, macOS and Linux, installing peripherals and troubleshooting software/hardware issues.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to document existing and new processes.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.High proficiency with business applications in a networked environment.Ability to interpret complex written specifications and conditions.Ability to utilize problem-solving and technical skills to provide troubleshooting and desktop support to department users.Preferred Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in FSU Information Technology services, as well as those with the following:Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity and security issues.Ability to interpret and apply given business policies, procedures, principles, and practices.Experience with LinuxContact InfoIf qualified and interested in a specific job opening as advertised, apply to Florida State University at https://jobs.fsu.edu (job ID 51645) by May 20, 2022.
