Hiring for Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice/North Port locationsFor 40 years, The Florida Center for Early Childhood has been a leading provider of therapeutic services, early education, and healthy development for children in southwest Florida. Its programs focus on infants and childrenthrough fifth grade who are at-risk academically, socially, or economically. The Florida Center provides developmental therapies, mental health counseling, and the Starfish Academy preschool in Sarasota and North Port. The organization also offers Healthy Families, a home-visiting program that guides parents who need assistance. The state's only Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders clinic is located at the Sarasota campus, offering evaluations for individuals of all ages who may have had prenatal exposure to alcohol. As needs continue to grow in our community, The Florida Center is committed to helping local children and families overcome their challenges and reach their full potential. The FASD Clinic Coordinator facilitates weekly clinic evaluations, prepares final evaluation reports, and ensures client and caregiver needs are addressed throughout the evaluation process. Provides mental health treatment for a small caseload of families.Principle Duties:Facilitate the FASD clinic through a trauma-informed lens ensuring the families are supported throughout the entire diagnostic process.Provide consultation, coordination and supervision to the multidisciplinary FASD team (Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Mental Health interns, and Administrative Intake Coordinator)Assess and provide feedback to families as the primary mental health clinician on the team.Contribute to improving access to FASD-informed services by becoming trained in evidence-based models for families raising a child with an FASD (Families Moving Forward; FASCETs).Therapist will be responsible for a small caseload of clinics utilizing the models.Work with clinic director to ensure contract obligations are met or exceeded, including but not limited to number of evaluations conducted, demographics, numbers trained, and numbers linked to services/interventionsCollect outcome data as required by funders and submit monthly to clinic directorSet clinic schedule. Responsible for appropriate clinic staffing at all times.Co-facilitate Weekly FASD Support GroupAttends weekly supervision and team meetingsDemonstrate active and ongoing collaboration both interagency and with other agency Departments.Provide FASD Training as scheduledContribute to ongoing quality improvement through outcome monitoring (client satisfaction surveys, client inquiries), fidelity monitoring, provider training/support, and after-action reviewOther duties as assignedPerformance Requirements:Understanding and support of the mission of The Florida Center for Early Childhood and its programsExcellent oral and written communication skills, using a personalized, donor-centric approach to enhance retention and engagementComputer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, OutlookDetail-oriented with superb organizational skillsExcellent customer service skills and positive attitudeAbility to work independently as well as across teamsSkilled in problem-solving, decision-making, and time managementAbility to analyze data and processesAbility to handle multiple projects with fast approaching deadlines and to manage stress under occasional high-pressure situations.Ability to maintain client and donor confidentiality according to established policies, federal and state statutesAbility to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and proceduresProfessional appearance and behavior, including punctuality.Compliance with agency/state/legal mandates for reporting suspected abuse/maltreatment/neglectActively participate in staff meetings and promote a culture of philanthropyComplete assigned paperwork in compliance with standards, including time sheets, mileage logs, leave requests, client records, client appointments and management information system.Ability to work in partnership with other team members.Valid Florida Driver License and full-time access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.Ability to adhere to drug free workplace policy.Education & Experience:- Master's Degree in Health-related field, licensed preferred- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience providing assessment, care planning, and treatment to children and families Active license under Florida board 491 as LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT (Preferred)- Qualified Supervisor designation (preferred)- Understanding of the complex impact of alcohol exposure on the developing fetus (preferred)Typical Work Conditions:- Office environment, automobile, community.Typical Physical Demands:- Requires individual to perform a broad range of activities.- Requires full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination.- Requires corrected vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks.- Ability to lift 30 pounds. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.- Requires seated work at desk, including use of a computer.
