Summary / Objective

The Danimer Purchasing Assistant will report to the Supply Chain Purchasing Manager at our Bainbridge Georgia Plant. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for monitoring purchase process from purchase requisition to approved invoice; ensuring costs, delivery times, quantities, ledger codes are accurate and purchase orders are completed within accordance of company policies & best practices.

Essential job functions for this position include but are not limited to :

Physical presence at the worksite during all assigned work shifts.

Understand Deadlines : Excellent attendance and punctuality are required as the Danimer teams are lean, and each persons' presence is required for production to run safely and efficiently.

Understand Goals : Quality and Quantity matter, in that order.

Protective Equipment Guidelines are to be followed and if neglected will lead to termination. Safety glasses, Safety Shoes, Ear protection, cell phone usage policies, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) and any other safety requirements must be followed

Being a team player, willing to support and help other departments when asked, in activities for which the employee is trained or will be receiving training

Proactive thinker with analytical skills, high emotional intelligence and possesses a well-rounded approach for problem-solving and troubleshooting

Reviewing purchase requisitions, confirming they meet company standards and are allocated to correct expenses accounts and cost centers

Completing day-to-day purchasing tasks such as coordinating delivery dates with suppliers, updating delivery dates within Dynamics, following-up on past-due deliveries, ensuring supplier paperwork (i.e. : packing slips, invoices) match purchase orders, updating costs

Maintaining positive rapport & relationships with suppliers, team members, customers and service providers

Tracking orders and shipments of purchased goods ensuring deliveries are completed in a timely manner, reports late / skipped deliveries to proper parties

Completing monthly and weekly purchase order reconciliations, ensuring purchase order data is always up to date and accurate

Monitoring purchase requisition process within Dynamics, providing support where needed, ensuring requisitions are reviewed, approved or rejected within no more than 5 business days

Process approved requisitions into purchase orders within 2 business days

Improving lead times and facilitation of incoming deliveries to warehouse team

Improving financial dimension accuracy within purchase orders & purchase requisitions

Improving workflow within purchase process from purchase requisition to approved invoice

Completing new-vendor requests & facilitate new customer set-up, as requested by approved vendors

Protecting organization's value by keeping information confidential

Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Training and learning new software as it is implemented

Following any and all Company rules, policies, and procedures as may be issued or in effect from time to time

All other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Purchasing Manager

Requirements : (education, skills, and abilities)

Relative College Degree, Certification and / or 2+ years experience in a purchasing role.

Strong attention to detail, ability to work both independently and as dynamic team member

Data input and data reporting experience using Database, Excel, Microsoft or similar software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Understands difference between low cost & best cost and general supply chain procedures

Understands principles of purchasing : right quality, quantity, time, source, price, place

Understands the importance of process improvement & can work collaboratively with team to improve processes

Familiar with Excel, Microsoft programs or similar software and understands the importance of accurate & consistent data entry

Adaptable, dynamic, well organized & goal oriented

Ability to work under pressure, meet set deadlines, establish priorities and multi-task in an organized manner.

Experience with purchasing and supply chain documents and be able to create upon request in compliance with company requirements, industry standards and compliant with any regulatory agency needed such as :

Purchase Orders

Purchase Requisitions

Order Acknowledgement

Excel Worksheets

Bills of Lading

Packing List

Truck bill of lading

Travel will not be required for additional training and between Danimer Scientific sites.
