These surveys ensure that all state licensed and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and/or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care. Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur. The Work You'll Do: This position is responsible for the intake and evaluation of complaints about health care facilities. The person in this position is part of a central work unit that assesses complaints to determine implication for investigation, and/or makes referrals to other entities for handling. Using a background in clinical nursing and assessment skills, this position intakes health care facility complaint calls, and evaluates them for regulatory authority to applicable State and Federal laws, policies, and procedures, assigns investigation priorities and communicates with Agency field staff as necessary. This position is responsible for contact with complainants for clarifying information as needed and generates correspondence on behalf of the Agency. The person in this position must have excellent customer service skills. The position is full-time, with regularly scheduled hours of Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm EST, excluding state holidays. The employee will be required to follow a daily schedule to ensure phone coverage. Generally, assigned phone coverage does not exceed 2 hours per day. Schedules and duties may be changed based upon business needs. The employee must be able to meet complaint processing deadlines while completing multiple complaint assignments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464, and four years of professional nursing experience. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing can substitute for one year of the required general professional nursing experience. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing can substitute for two years of the required general professional nursing experience.
