In this role, you will employ the nursing process to deliver
patient care under the guidance of licensed professionals
authorized by state regulations to prescribe treatments and
medications, or under the supervision of a Registered Professional
Nurse (RN). You will be accountable for the quality of care
provided to your assigned patients and will collaborate with
various departments to coordinate patient care effectively.
Position Overview: Department: Gastroenterology Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday Employment Type: Full-Time Role Summary: The
Primary Care Nurse is responsible for conducting triage,
recognizing abnormal patient symptoms, and interpreting laboratory
results. You will notify physicians or administer treatments in
accordance with established Primary Care protocols. Additionally,
you will assist with managing EPIC in-basket tasks, which include
handling incoming and outgoing messages via phone or My Mercy,
processing test results, and managing medication refill requests.
You will also enter orders as necessary to support the healthcare
provider and clinical team. Qualifications for LPN: Education:
Diploma in Practical Nursing Licensure: Must be a graduate of an
accredited practical nursing program; equivalent educational
experience and successful licensure may also be considered.
Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license in
the state where nursing duties are performed, adhering to all State
Board of Nursing regulations. Experience: 2-3 years preferred
Certifications: Note that one or more of the following
certifications may be required based on the specific position or
unit, or must be obtained within a designated timeframe: ACLS
(Advanced Cardiac Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life
Support) PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work,
And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules BLS (Basic
Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association
or completion of the course within 30 days of hire IV Certification
within one year of hire Other unit-specific certifications as
